How much does the facilitator certification cost?
Breath of Gold does not publish a price. Their FAQ says: “We will go over the specifics of the pricing on your application call. The pricing can vary based on different promotions that we may have running.” They state that extended payment plans are available and that a scholarship programme exists for students living in countries such as Colombia, Mexico, Ecuador and Malaysia. Any figure quoted anywhere other than that call is not theirs.
When does the next cohort start?
There are no cohort start dates. The programme is self-paced and, in their words, “all of the modules will be able to be accessed immediately once you purchase it, and you will be able to access the training materials for life.” Enrolment is rolling, through an application call. The only fixed date in the calendar is the in-person retreat, 2–5 October 2026 in Reno, Nevada.
How long does it take and how many hours is it?
Their FAQ says the certification “is recommended to be done in 4 months”, that you can take longer, and that “most people go through the training in about 8-16 weeks”. The published hours breakdown is 24 hours of pre-recorded modules, 24 hours of live Zoom training across 16 weeks, 24 hours of your own breathwork practice, 3 hours of test-out sessions and 25+ hours of journeys with lifetime access — “100+ hours total of training”. Note that the certification page hero also describes it as a six-month journey, so confirm the framing with them directly.
Is it delivered online or in person?
Online. Their FAQ: “every aspect of this program is all done online, so you can join this from anywhere in the world. All of the modules are self-paced except for the optional 16 live bonus sessions, guest speaker calls, student test-out sessions, and weekly breathwork sessions.” The live 90-minute Zoom calls alternate between Thursdays 5:00–6:30pm PDT and Fridays 10:00–11:30am PDT so students in different time zones can attend, and everything is recorded. The in-person retreat in Reno is an optional add-on.
What does it take to graduate?
Complete all the modules, lead eight breathwork journeys, pass one 1:1 session and one group session as test-outs, and pass a 50-question multiple-choice exam. A digital certificate with your name on it is then emailed to you.
Is the certification accredited?
Breath of Gold states it is a recognised continuing-education provider with Yoga Alliance, the National Academy of Sports Medicine and the Athletics and Fitness Association of America, and that it is accredited by the Federation of Holistic Therapists (UK) and the International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine. On completion they say you can log 84 credit hours with Yoga Alliance, 1.9 CEUs with NASM and 15 CEUs with AFAA. Adrienne Rivera is recognised as an E-RYT 200 by Yoga Alliance.
Are there prerequisites?
You must be 18 years or older and have done some kind of inner work beforehand. They recommend, but do not require, familiarising yourself with circular connected breath through one of their sessions first.
Do I have to be certified to teach breathwork?
In their own words: “While breathwork is not currently a regulated practice, and it is not illegal to teach without certification, it is essential to approach the practice with integrity and responsibility.” They emphasise being trauma-informed because, as they put it, unprocessed trauma may surface during breathwork, and holding space in that state requires specific skills.
What is the refund policy?
Their published policy: “Due to the digital nature of this course, we have a no refund policy and a no cancellation policy for this course.” They note that if life gets busy you can continue the modules later at your own pace, since access is for life.
What happens at the October 2026 retreat?
The VIP In-Person Facilitator Retreat runs 2–5 October 2026 at the Breath of Gold retreat house in Reno, Nevada, about ten minutes from Reno International Airport. The published agenda covers hands-on touch and holding space, pre-talk and 1:1 session practice, co-led group breathwork journeys with live feedback, and a closing content shoot. Retreat activities and homemade meals are included; accommodation is not. The retreat is optional — the online certification is what certifies you.
How do I try Breath of Gold before committing?
They host a free live Sunday breathwork class on Zoom, every Sunday from 5:30 to 7:00pm Pacific Time, and describe it as a good starting point for beginners. Registration is on their Sunday Breathwork page.
